How to choose an interactive smart board

The right board depends on the room it goes in, how many people use it at once, and which apps you need. These four points cover most decisions.

Screen size for your room

As a general guide, 65″ boards suit small classrooms and meeting rooms. 75″ to 86″ boards suit standard classrooms and conference rooms, and 98″ boards suit large classrooms, halls and boardrooms where people sit further from the screen. If you are unsure, send us your room size and we will recommend a model.

RAM and storage

8GB RAM and 128GB storage handle teaching software, presentations and video calls. Choose 16GB RAM and 256GB storage (H12S-2 or H16S) if you run several apps at once or store large lesson files on the board.

Google EDLA certification

Google EDLA certification means Google has approved the board to run Google Mobile Services. EDLA-certified boards come with the Google Play Store and Google apps, so you can install the same apps you use on an Android phone.

Touch, camera and microphones

Multi-point touch lets several people write on the board at the same time; the JAV H18S 98″ supports 50 touch points. The DreamSource IF50 series adds a built-in 48MP AI camera and 8-array microphones, which is useful for hybrid classes and video meetings without extra equipment.
